Cairn

About Cairn

Legal expertise, without the legal bill

Cairn was built alongside a practising Scottish solicitor, so families can settle an estate properly and keep more of what was left to them.

We started Cairn because we saw families lose thousands in fees at the hardest time.

Running a law firm, Jonathan saw that most of an executry follows the same steps every time: gathering valuations, writing to banks, completing the inventory, paying debts in the right order.

So we built Cairn: the same careful process, laid out step by step, at one fixed price, with solicitors behind it when the law needs one.

The founders

Jonathan Paul

Jonathan Paul

Solicitor in Scotland · Founder of [law firm name]

Jonathan has practised law in Scotland for over 20 years and founded [law firm name] more than a decade ago. Over that time he has guided hundreds of families through executry and Confirmation, and seen how slow, costly and confusing the process can be at the hardest time in their lives. He started Cairn to give every family the same careful guidance, faster and at a fixed price.

Robbie Paul

Co-founder

Robbie grew up around his dad's practice and watched families struggle with paperwork, banks and court forms while they were grieving. He leads the product and technology at Cairn, building a service that takes the admin off families' hands while keeping them in control at every step.

How we work together

Cairn is a separate company from [law firm name]. Where Scots law requires a solicitor, such as preparing Confirmation papers or arranging a bond of caution, that work is handled by qualified solicitors at [law firm name], so every family has real legal oversight behind the scenes.
